Your school counselors are available by appointment or email during school hours (M-F, 8:30-3:30). We respond to emails and phone calls within 24 business hours and see students as quickly as possible when they are in need. If you have a question or need support please email us for an appointment:

Jamie Frank-O'Connell,

Counseling Director

Mrs. Frank-O’Connell has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western State University, Colorado where she majored in Clinical Psychology and minored in Pre-law. She further earned a Master of Arts degree from Regis University, Colorado in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and obtained her Professional School Counseling Certification from Adam’s State University, Colorado. Mrs. Frank-O’Connell has been a professional counselor in schools and mental health clinics since 1997.

Shawn Davis,

Middle School Counselor

Mrs. Davis graduated from Summerville High School, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston, and earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Webster University. She started her professional counseling career as a high school & career counselor and worked the last 17 years at Oakbrook Middle School as a middle school counselor and program director.

Laurel Hiser,

High School Counselor

Mrs. Hiser earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cross-Disciplinary Studies in Upstate New York from Roberts Wesleyan College, and her Master of Education degree in Secondary School Counseling from The Citadel. Since moving to the Charleston area five years ago, Mrs. Hiser has been working in administrative roles in nonprofit settings and in the South Carolina Public Charter School District.
