5.23.2025 Friday Letter to Families
Good afternoon, PSA families!
What a wonderful way to end our week celebrating our seniors this afternoon! We hope this year was one of their best years at PSA and wish them all the best in the next chapters of their lives! We are winding down headed into our last week of school for our underclassmen and had a great start to our End Of The Year Student Check out. Here is what we have in store for FINAL WEEK OF THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR!
Attitude of Gratitude (Positive Feedback) PLEASE KEEP’EM COMING!
-
We absolutely love our teachers and staffulty and hope you do too! National Teacher Appreciation Week has come to an end, but PLEASE KEEP THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK COMING and help us finish the year strong! If you would like to send a kind word to show your appreciation for your student’s teacher or any staffulty, please do so on our “Attitude of Gratitude” form to let us know who deserves a reminder that THEY MATTER during this week, or sooner!
Testing -
-
We made it to our final week of testing at PSA! All students have received their emails with details. Please ensure students arrive at school on their designated testing make-up dates as next week is the last week of testing. Here is a break down of what testing we have going on next week:
-
May 27 - SC Ready Reading A Make-Up, SC Reading Reading B Make-Up, EOC Bio Make-Up
-
May 28 - AP Human Geo Make-Up, AP US History Make-Up, SC Ready Science Make-Up, SC Reading Writing Make-Up
-
May 29 - SC Ready Math Make-Up

Student Check Out -
-
If your student still has a Chromebook, a Chromebook charger, a Chromebook case, any textbooks, a Yondr pouch, an athletic uniform, or any other items that needs to be returned to the school, please have those items brought up to Mr. Sweeney in the main office. These items must be checked back in, so please encourage them not to try and drop things off.
-
All Chromebooks, including students needing one for VirtualSC, are to turn in their chromebooks. They will be reissued at a later time.
-
Any items not returned next week will result in a charge or replacement fee being added to your account in PowerSchool that should be settled prior to your student receiving a class schedule for next year.
8th Grade "Leveling Up" Day – Thursday, May 29! (STUDENTS ONLY)
-
Starting next week, 8th grade parents can pay the cost for the Leveling Up event. Online payments are $7 and can be paid here or $5 in person. If paying in person, 8th graders can swing by Mr. Ogletree's classroom on the Heracles Hallway during middle school lunch only. This is a closed event for 8th graders only. Although we appreciate the willingness of parent participation, there is no foreseeable need for parents to attend. If you wish to volunteer as a chaperone, please email Mr. Ogletree and CC: Mr. Sweeney at chris.ogletree@psaschool.org and charlie.sweeney@psaschool.org. Game On!
Phoenix Fest is Coming!!!
-
As a celebration for the end of the year, the Student Council would like to bring back an old PSA tradition, Phoenix Fest! For those that have never attended a Phoenix Fest before, it is a fair type event with games, activities, and food for all grade levels and their families to enjoy! More specific details will be given in the next Friday notes but this event will take place on Thursday, May 29, from 2:30pm - 5:30pm, so that our PSA families can participate in the fun. In order to make this happen we would love (and need) some community support.
-
We are looking for donations of a variety of needs. Please click this link for more details on how you can support this event.
-
Here is our Map for the event!
-
Lunch on May 29th will be provided by the Student Council during the school day and will cost $5 for a hotdog or hamburger, chips, and a drink. Any donations towards lunch (food, plateware, drinks) will help Student Council raise funds for future events!
-
If you are interested in donating, all information regarding drop off time/date, quantity of items needed, and types of items needed for lunch are in this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054CA5A82AA4FECF8-56258684-psasummer#/
Registrar’s Desk -
-
If your student will not be returning to Palmetto Scholars Academy next school year, we ask that you complete the official Withdrawal Form here as soon as possible. Completing this step ensures that your student's records are properly closed and allows us to offer available seats to families currently on the waitlist. If the withdrawal form is not completed and you are withdrawing, your students' records will not be released.
-
Final grades will be accessible in PowerSchool at the end of the school year. If your student is transferring to another school, please note that official records and transcripts will only be sent once a completed withdrawal form has been completed and received.
-
Please ensure that your PowerSchool Parent Portal account is active and updated. This platform lets you view your student’s grades, attendance, and outstanding balances. If your mailing address has changed at any point during this school year and has not been updated in PowerSchool, please reach out to the Registrar’s Office so we can update your student's file as final report cards are mailed.
-
Thank you for your attention to these important updates and for partnering with us in closing out the school year on a strong note. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact via email at registation@psaschool.org.
