Palmetto Scholars Academy

PSA families,

It's hard to believe, but we're already halfway through July! I hope this communication finds you enjoying your summer break.

Attached is the second installment of PSA Summer letters to parents.

Thank you for reading and thinking through all the information, it's A LOT!

As always, please reach out if we can be of service.

July 12, 2024

Dear Palmetto Scholars Academy,

I hope that this letter finds you and your family enjoying your summer break. Each Friday for the next four weeks I will write to communicate some information about the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The letters will contain bulleted information and the school contact person for that item should you have any further questions. Each letter will also have a link to the earlier letters, a list of what to expect in the following letter, and all these letters will remain available on our school website as well.

Here is the LINK to the 7/12/24 Summer Letter to Parents.

The PSA staff is working on several new initiatives to improve communication and processes for our students. One of those is our Student Dashboard - a one stop communication link for all sorts of information that PSA students need. We will continually update as new information becomes available.

Take a look and thank you in advance for your feedback on this new resource!

Students enrolled in summer SC Virtual coursework will have the opportunity to complete final exam testing in person at PSA on July 31 or August 1, 2024 from 8am to 12pm.

Students wishing to test virtually rather than in person can access the VirtualSC Final exam information page for details about MonitorEDU testing. This option has an associated cost of $15 that is paid directly MonitorEDU and may provide additional flexibility to students unable to test in the PSA testing window. Access this link before July 31st to register for this opportunity.

Yearbook Addition

PSA's Yearbook team created an addition to the 23-24 yearbook with events that happened after our early March deadline. Here it is for you to enjoy. YEARBOOK ADDITION

Important Reminder

Tomorrow is the first day of our important middle school testing events. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to capture a snapshot of all they have learned!

There are a few things you can do to make sure tomorrow is an optimal experience for your child.

  • Send them with their fully charged Chromebook and charger.
  • Make sure they get a good night's rest.
  • Ensure they eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Arrive at school on time.

Middle school testing will occur on May 14, 15, 20, 21, and 24. We appreciate your partnership in making each of these events rewarding experiences for your child!

Thank you!
