PSA House System

The goal of the PSA House System is to ensure that our school has a family feel. It was established:
  • To promote positive relationships and mentoring for students;
  • To promote positive relationships between faculty and students;
  • To give every student another caring adult;
  • To instill a sense of pride in being a PSA Scholar and member of a House;
  • To boost character education.
The Houses are named after Greek gods & goddesses who exemplfy the character traits in RISE, the four core values of our school.

House Athena

Character trait: Integrity
Color: Red
Mascot: Owl
House Advisor: Ms. Brown

Did you know?
Athena was the symbol of democracy; a pure maiden, willing to fight for the truth that lies in a representative government. As the legend goes, the women of Athens voted for the goddess’ gift and since they outnumbered the men, Athena became the patron deity. Democracy triumphed over aristocratic oligarchy and Athena was their champion.

House Heracles

Character trait: Sportsmanship
Color: Purple
Mascot: Lion
House Advisor: Ms. Roberts

Did you know?
Extraordinary strength, courage, and ingenuity, were among the characteristics commonly attributed to him. Heracles used his wits on several occasions when his strength did not suffice, such as when laboring for the king Augeas of Elis, wrestling the giant Antaeus, or tricking Atlas into taking the sky back onto his shoulders. By conquering dangerous archaic forces he is said to have "made the world safe for mankind" and to be its benefactor.

House Kratos

Character trait: Respect
Color: Yellow
Mascot: Bull
House Advisor: Mr. Reetz

Did you know?
In Greek mythology, Kratos is the divine personification of strength. He is the son of Pallas and Styx. Kratos and his siblings Nike (“Victory”, Bia (“Force”) and Zelus (“Zeal”) are all essentially personifications of a trait. Kratos does not appear often in the same way that other gods appeared. Instead, his name is usually called upon by other characters to help them in times of need.

House Poseidon

Character trait: Excellence
Color: Blue
Mascot: Stallion
House Advisor: Ms. Hudgens

Did you know?
Poseidon is god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. He is the personification of the sea and the oldest Greek divinity of the waters. The name Poseidon means either “husband of the earth” or “lord of the earth.” Poseidon was a brother of Zeus, the sky god and chief deity of ancient Greece, and of Hades, god of the underworld. When the three brothers deposed their father, the kingdom of the sea fell by lot to Poseidon. His weapon and main symbol was the trident. According to the Greek poet Hesiod, Poseidon’s trident, like Zeus’s thunderbolt and Hades’ helmet, was fashioned by the three Cyclopes.
